The Activity of Love

Sharing this series of 5 alchemical paintings is a labor of love a long time in the making. Each one conveys the essence of years of life experience being loosened, layer by layer, to reveal the images you see here.

These beings and their allies emerge through a fresh exploration of what is real and present within me the moment the paintbrush touches the canvas. In this way of working, there is no need to go back to the past to try to figure out what went “wrong”, or how to make it “right”.

There is only the dawning realization of what is ready to be worked with now, a gentle opening toward what the next right step could be, and a renewed belief in myself that I can cross that threshold.

Each finished painting stands as an invitation to a new way of being in the world. They serve as witnesses to where I’ve been as well as companions on the road ahead, seeing me through the eyes of love, so I can be the activity of love.

My hope in sharing this work is that you will spend a little time with each one, listening to what they have to say as you take the next right step in your own journey as The Activity of Love.
